The Opening Ceremony of the Integrated Crop Management Training for Tropical Fruits for Palestinian participants marks a significant collaboration between the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Scheduled to begin on 16 November 2024, the program aims to empower Palestinian agricultural practitioners by equipping them with advanced knowledge and skills in Integrated Crop Management (ICM), specifically tailored to tropical fruit cultivation. This comprehensive training includes theoretical modules on sustainable pest and disease management, practical applications of modern agricultural technologies, and technical visits to commercial farms in Malaysia.
This program is part of Malaysia’s broader commitment to international development, focusing on the transfer of expertise to promote sustainable agricultural practices in developing regions. It aligns with a shared vision with JICA to enhance food security, improve productivity, and strengthen resilience within the agricultural sector. The program also draws on the subject matter expertise of MARDI, which plays a pivotal role in agricultural research and the development of technologies aimed at improving agricultural yields and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Malaysia’s agricultural sector. By enhancing the capacity of Palestinian participants, the training addresses critical challenges in crop management while promoting environmentally sustainable solutions.
This initiative provides an important platform for strengthening diplomatic ties, facilitating cultural exchange, and fostering long-term partnerships between Malaysia, Japan, and Palestine. The collaboration underscores the importance of international solidarity in tackling global challenges, particularly in agriculture, which remains a cornerstone of food security and economic stability for many communities.
To achieve these goals, we would like to sincerely thank our valued Strategic Partners, DDI Agro Sdn Bhd, MERAQUE Group Sdn Bhd, Right Vision Sdn Bhd, Muulk Holdings Sdn Bhd and D’Tandoor Food Industries Sdn Bhd. Their generous support and strong commitment have been key to the success of this program. Thanks to their significant contributions, this training initiative has not only come to life but is also making a real difference in the professional growth and development of Palestinian agricultural practitioners, ensuring a lasting impact.
